We haven't bought cardigans yet but Amanda was talking about lentils the other day and I have acquired a pair of sandals; has the transformation begun...
Arbroath
Bit of a rush so we didn't see much, although we did have some magnificent fish and chips. This is the old, red abbey.
Stonehaven
Next was Stonehaven, which was so lovely we decided to sample the local Chinese and stay the night by the sea. We'd definitely recommend a visit, it's really quaint.
Dunottar Castle
We woke up in Stonehaven, had a most excellent bacon sarnie and headed two miles up the road to Dunottar Castle. There are castles and there are castles, and this is definitely a castle! It really is worth a look, very dramatic.
Aberdeen
We went from Dunottar to Aberdeen for the sole reason of treating Campy to a new iPhone friendly DAB Sony stereo. All fitted and we were off again.
Macduff
On to Banff just around the corner. Had a quick stroll around and a pint and decided to have a look just up the harbour towards Whitehills for a place to stay for the night.
We ended up at Boyndie Bay, parked right next to the sea, it was absolutely perfect. A stroll on the beach, a few photos, a bottle of wine, some Pasta and a DVD, which I mostly snored through; job's a good 'un. Woke up about 8.30 to glorious sunshine and had tea and toast looking out over the sea. We love campy.

Heading home
And on the way back we stopped at Huntley, Balmoral and Invercauld.
